After a derailment in Hamburg caused by an operating error, our P30 sleepers pass the endurance test. Luckily, the damage caused was limited to material damage only.
The freight train slid a further 50 meters after the derailment, thus damaging about 15 of our sleepers with its rolls. But thanks to the material properties of our plastic, these suffered only slight, superficial “bruising” and therefore do not need to be replaced. Whereas concrete sleepers usually break or crack after such an incident and have to be replaced.
